After breakfast, your driver will pick you up from your hotel and the journey begins between 07:00 and 07:30 AM, heading towards Denge Village, the gateway to Wae Rebo.

📍Scenic Journey to Denge

As you leave Labuan Bajo, the scenery gradually changes from coastal landscapes to the green countryside of Flores. Enjoy winding roads, fresh mountain air, rural villages, and expansive rice fields, particularly around the Lembor area. The journey is not simply about reaching the destination. Whenever possible, we are happy to make short stops if you see something unique along the way, want to take photographs, or simply wish to enjoy the fresh Flores air.

📍Coffee Break

Around mid-morning, depending on the travel conditions and timing, enjoy a short coffee break around the Lembor area or another suitable location along the route. Take a moment to relax, enjoy a local drink, and refresh yourself before continuing towards Denge.

📍Lunch in Denge

Continue towards Denge and enjoy lunch featuring local cuisine. After lunch, prepare for the most adventurous part of the day — the trek into the mountains towards Wae Rebo.

📍Wae Rebo Trekking

From the trekking starting point, begin the approximately 3-hour hike towards Wae Rebo Traditional Village. The trail takes you through lush forest surrounded by trees, birdsong, and the natural atmosphere of the Manggarai highlands. A good pair of hiking shoes, sufficient drinking water, and a reasonable level of fitness are strongly recommended.

📍Entering Wae Rebo

Upon reaching the entrance to Wae Rebo, guests will encounter a traditional bamboo signal where visitors are invited to make three strikes as a traditional sign announcing their arrival. Before entering further into the village, guests are expected to wait for the traditional welcoming process. Photography may be restricted until the welcoming ceremony has been completed and permission has been given by the traditional community.

📍Wae Lu'u Traditional Welcome

Guests will be welcomed by the traditional leader and invited into the traditional house to participate in the Wae Lu'u welcoming ritual. This traditional ceremony is a meaningful part of the Wae Rebo experience, where the community asks for blessings and protection from their ancestors for visitors during their stay. After the ceremony, guests will be welcomed into another traditional house and served local Wae Rebo coffee or tea. Once the welcoming process is complete, guests are free to explore the village, take photographs where permitted, interact respectfully with local residents, and enjoy the unique atmosphere of Wae Rebo.

📍Traditional Dinner & Overnight

Around 07:00 PM, enjoy a traditional dinner prepared by the local community. Dinner is served in a simple communal setting, with guests sitting together on mats and enjoying local dishes prepared by the people of Wae Rebo. After dinner, spend some time relaxing, talking with fellow travelers, or interacting with local residents. Around 10:00 PM, guests are encouraged to rest as the village begins to reduce its electricity usage. Electricity is limited and generally supplied by a generator.

Wake up early in Wae Rebo and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of the village before continuing your journey eastward.

📍Sunrise & Morning in Wae Rebo

Wake up before sunrise and enjoy the beautiful morning atmosphere around the village. Afterwards, return to the traditional house for morning coffee and breakfast together with other guests. You will have some free time to explore the village again, take photographs where permitted, and enjoy your final moments in this remarkable traditional community.

📍Trek Back to Denge

After preparing for departure, begin the approximately 3-hour trek back to Denge. Enjoy the forest scenery and fresh mountain air as you make your way down towards the village. Upon reaching the starting point, continue by vehicle towards the coast.

📍Mules Island

Continue to the coastal area and board a local boat towards Mules Island. The boat ride takes approximately 20–30 minutes, depending on sea conditions. Often described by visitors as having a Jurassic Park-like atmosphere, Mules Island offers beautiful coastal scenery, green hills, clear waters, and a peaceful island environment. Take time to explore the island, enjoy the scenery, walk along the coast, and capture photographs of this lesser-known side of Flores.

📍Lunch

Enjoy lunch either on Mules Island or at a suitable local restaurant or warung along the route, depending on the day's operational conditions.

📍Spider Rice Field

Continue towards the famous Spider Rice Field, a distinctive agricultural landscape in the Manggarai region. From a suitable viewpoint, observe the unusual web-like pattern formed by the traditional division of rice fields. This unique landscape reflects the traditional agricultural system and local land organization of the Manggarai people.

📍Continue to Ruteng

After visiting the Spider Rice Field, continue towards Ruteng, the highland town surrounded by mountains, agricultural landscapes, and traditional Manggarai communities. Arrive in Ruteng, check in to your hotel, enjoy dinner, and rest after a full day of exploration.

After breakfast, continue your journey eastward from Ruteng towards the highlands and coastal landscapes of Flores.

Continue to Lake Rana Mese, a tranquil natural lake surrounded by lush green forest and highland scenery. Take some time to enjoy the fresh mountain air and peaceful atmosphere before continuing towards Aimere.

📍Traditional Sopi / Moke Experience

Before reaching the coast of Aimere, take the opportunity to experience a traditional part of local life by visiting a local producer and witnessing the traditional process of making sopi or moke, a locally produced traditional alcoholic drink made from fermented and distilled palm sap. Guests can observe how the palm sap is traditionally collected and processed using locally practiced methods. Depending on local availability and circumstances, guests may have the opportunity to meet local producers and learn more about this long-standing local tradition.

📍Lunch by the Coast in Aimere

Continue towards Aimere for lunch by the coast. Enjoy a local meal with a beautiful sea view while taking a break beside the shoreline and experiencing the relaxed atmosphere of coastal Flores. After lunch, continue towards Soa Menggeruda Hot Spring. Arrive at this natural hot spring surrounded by the beautiful landscape of the Soa area. After a long day of traveling and exploring, take time to relax and enjoy the warm natural waters.

📍Continue to Bajawa

After enjoying Soa Menggeruda Hot Spring, continue the journey to Bajawa. Arrive in Bajawa and enjoy dinner before checking in and resting at your hotel.

Please read the following Terms & Conditions carefully before making your booking. By confirming your reservation with Cebo Lako Tour, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.

1. Booking & Confirmation

A booking is considered confirmed once Cebo Lako Tour has received the required booking information and payment according to the agreed booking arrangement. Guests are responsible for providing accurate information, including full name, number of participants, contact details, accommodation information, and any relevant special requests. Any special requirements should be communicated to Cebo Lako Tour before the tour begins.

2. Payment

Tour prices are based on the confirmed itinerary, number of guests, accommodation arrangements, transportation, and included services. Any additional expenses not specifically stated under Inclusions are the responsibility of the guest. Payment terms, deposit requirements, and remaining balance will be communicated at the time of booking.

3. Pick-Up & Transportation

Hotel pick-up is available within the agreed Labuan Bajo area. Guests are requested to be ready after breakfast. The tour normally departs between 07:00 AM and 07:30 AM. Transportation times are approximate and may vary due to road conditions, traffic, weather, local activities, guest-requested stops, and other circumstances beyond our control. This is a long-distance overland journey through Flores involving winding roads, mountainous terrain, coastal roads, and extended periods of travel.

The tour concludes in Larantuka on Day 7.

4. Wae Rebo Trekking

The trek to and from Wae Rebo takes approximately 3 hours each way, depending on walking pace, weather, and trail conditions. The trail includes uphill and downhill sections and requires a reasonable level of physical fitness. Guests are responsible for bringing suitable hiking shoes, sufficient drinking water, and appropriate personal equipment. Cebo Lako Tour may recommend changes to the trekking plan if weather, trail conditions, or other circumstances create a safety concern. Guests who are unable to continue the trek due to personal physical limitations may be responsible for any additional transportation or assistance costs required.

5. Local Motorcycle Transfer

Due to steep and challenging road conditions, vehicles may not always be able to reach the Wae Rebo trekking starting point. Local motorcycle transportation may be arranged when necessary. Motorcycle transfers are subject to local availability, road conditions, and weather. Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by the local driver and tour team.

6. Wae Rebo Cultural Rules

Wae Rebo is a living traditional community, and guests are expected to respect its customs and traditions. Guests must follow instructions from local traditional leaders and community hosts. Photography may not be permitted immediately upon entering the village before the traditional welcoming process has been completed. Guests should wait for permission before taking photographs in areas where restrictions apply. Guests should dress and behave respectfully during local cultural activities and ceremonies. Guests should not enter private areas, traditional houses, or restricted places without permission. Guests are expected to respect local residents, their traditions, property, and daily activities.

7. Wae Lu'u Traditional Welcome

The Wae Lu'u welcoming ritual is a traditional cultural practice conducted by the local community. Guests are expected to participate respectfully and follow the guidance of the traditional leader. The ceremony is subject to local circumstances and community arrangements. Cebo Lako Tour does not guarantee the exact format, duration, or wording of the ceremony, as it remains under the authority of the local traditional community.

8. Accommodation

Accommodation during the tour consists of traditional communal accommodation in Wae Rebo and hotel accommodation in Ruteng, Bajawa, Moni, the Sikka/Maumere area, and Larantuka. Wae Rebo accommodation is a simple communal traditional village experience and is not comparable to a conventional hotel. Sleeping mats/mattresses, pillows, and blankets are provided according to local arrangements. Electricity in Wae Rebo is limited and generally supplied by a generator. Hotel accommodation is subject to availability and the confirmed booking arrangement.

9. Mules Island & Boat Transportation

The boat journey to and from Mules Island is subject to sea, weather, and safety conditions. The boat arrangement may be private or shared, depending on the confirmed booking. For safety reasons, Cebo Lako Tour and/or the local boat operator may postpone, modify, or cancel the boat journey if sea conditions are considered unsuitable. If the Mules Island visit cannot proceed due to unsafe sea conditions, Cebo Lako Tour will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement where possible. Any alternative arrangement will depend on availability, local conditions, and the circumstances of the cancellation. Guests are responsible for keeping their belongings secure during boat transportation.

10. Local Sopi / Moke Experience

The traditional Sopi / Moke experience is a cultural and educational activity intended to introduce guests to a local traditional practice. Availability depends on local producers and community circumstances. Guests are not required to consume alcoholic beverages. Cebo Lako Tour does not guarantee that a particular producer, production method, or demonstration will be available on the day of the tour.

11. Meals & Dietary Requirements

Meals included in the package are provided according to the confirmed itinerary. Local cuisine will be served throughout the journey. Some meals may be served at local restaurants, warungs, community dining facilities, or other suitable locations. Wae Rebo dinner and breakfast are prepared according to local community arrangements and may differ from Western-style meals. Guests with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or special dietary requirements must inform Cebo Lako Tour before booking. While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate dietary requirements, specific food choices cannot always be guaranteed in remote areas.

12. Weather & Force Majeure

The itinerary may be changed, delayed, or adjusted due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Cebo Lako Tour, including but not limited to:

• Severe weather

• Heavy rain

• Rough sea conditions

• Landslides

• Road closures

• Natural disasters

• Government restrictions

• Local community circumstances

• Transportation disruptions

• Other safety-related conditions

The safety of guests, local communities, drivers, boat crews, and guides takes priority over following the itinerary exactly as planned.

13. Itinerary Changes & Flexible Timing

All timings stated in the itinerary are approximate. The tour normally begins between 07:00 AM and 07:30 AM, while subsequent timings may vary depending on road conditions, weather, traffic, trekking conditions, sea conditions, local activities, and the time spent at each destination. Cebo Lako Tour may modify the sequence, timing, transportation arrangements, meal locations, or activities when reasonably necessary. The coastal destination on Day 7 — Kwuta Beach, Weri Beach, or Tanjung Batu Payung — may be selected according to weather, road conditions, timing, accessibility, and local circumstances. Such changes do not automatically constitute a failure to provide the tour. Cebo Lako Tour will make reasonable efforts to preserve the main experiences included in the package whenever conditions allow.

14. Guest Responsibility

Guests are responsible for:

• Following reasonable instructions from Cebo Lako Tour, local drivers, boat operators, and community representatives.

• Taking reasonable care of their own health and personal safety.

• Bringing appropriate clothing, footwear, medication, and personal equipment.

• Informing Cebo Lako Tour of relevant medical, mobility, dietary, or other conditions that may affect participation.

• Taking care of personal belongings throughout the journey.

• Respecting local communities, cultural traditions, wildlife, nature, and the environment.

15. Personal Belongings

Cebo Lako Tour is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless caused by proven negligence on the part of Cebo Lako Tour. Guests are strongly advised to keep valuable items secure and bring only what is necessary for the trip.

16. Health & Fitness

This tour involves:

• Approximately 3 hours of trekking to Wae Rebo

• Approximately 3 hours of trekking back to Denge

• Uneven and sometimes steep terrain

• Boat transportation

• Long-distance overland travel

• Multiple changes in elevation and climate

• Overnight accommodation in a simple communal environment in Wae Rebo

Guests should assess their own physical ability before booking. Guests are responsible for informing Cebo Lako Tour of any condition, injury, mobility limitation, or other circumstance that could affect their participation.

17. Cancellation & Refunds

We understand that travel plans can sometimes change. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide reasonable flexibility while covering costs that may already have been committed to local communities and service providers.

Cancellation made 30 days or more before departure

Guests are eligible for a full refund, less any non-refundable costs already paid to third-party suppliers or local service providers.

Cancellation made 15–29 days before departure

Guests are eligible for a 50% refund of the total tour price.

Any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Cancellation made 7–14 days before departure

Guests are eligible for a 25% refund of the total tour price.

Any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Cancellation made less than 7 days before departure

No refund will be provided.

No-Show

No refund will be provided if a guest fails to appear at the agreed meeting point or pick-up location without prior notice.

Late Arrival or Early Departure

No refund will be provided for unused services resulting from late arrival, voluntary withdrawal from the tour, or early departure.

Cancellation or Modification by Cebo Lako Tour Due to Unsafe Conditions

If Cebo Lako Tour must cancel or significantly modify part of the itinerary due to unsafe weather, sea conditions, road closures, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement where possible. Any refund or credit for services that cannot be provided will be assessed based on the circumstances and any recoverable costs from third-party suppliers.

Third-Party Costs

Certain payments to Wae Rebo community services, local boat operators, motorcycle transportation providers, accommodation providers, restaurants, attraction operators, or other suppliers may be non-refundable once confirmed or paid. Such costs may be deducted from any applicable refund.

Cancellation Request

All cancellation requests must be submitted to Cebo Lako Tour in writing. The applicable cancellation period will be determined based on the date the cancellation request is received and the scheduled tour departure date.

18. No-Show & Late Arrival

No refund will normally be provided for guests who fail to appear at the agreed pick-up location and time without prior notice. If a guest arrives late and the delay causes additional transportation, accommodation, boat, or other operational costs, such costs may be charged to the guest. Guests are encouraged to contact Cebo Lako Tour as soon as possible if they expect to be delayed.

19. Photography & Media

Guests may take photographs and videos during the tour where permitted. However, guests must respect restrictions relating to cultural ceremonies, traditional houses, local residents, and other areas where photography is not permitted. Cebo Lako Tour may take photographs or videos during the tour for documentation or promotional purposes only where appropriate and with reasonable respect for guest privacy.

20. Limitation of Responsibility

Cebo Lako Tour will take reasonable care in arranging and operating the tour. However, Cebo Lako Tour cannot be held responsible for delays, injuries, losses, damages, cancellations, or additional expenses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control. This includes circumstances involving third-party service providers such as local boat operators, motorcycle drivers, accommodation providers, restaurants, attraction operators, or other independent suppliers, except where responsibility arises under applicable law.

21. Acceptance of Terms

By making a booking with Cebo Lako Tour, the guest confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions. Cebo Lako Tour reserves the right to update these terms when necessary. The terms applicable to a booking will be those communicated and accepted at the time of confirmation.
