Your journey begins after breakfast.

We pick you up from your hotel in Labuan Bajo or, for guests already staying in Ruteng, from your accommodation there. From Labuan Bajo, we travel towards Denge Village, the gateway to Wae Rebo Village. The journey is part of the adventure. Along the way, enjoy winding roads, fresh mountain air, rural landscapes, and the expansive rice fields around Lembor.

The drive from Labuan Bajo to Denge takes approximately 3 hours without stops, but there is no need to rush. If you discover an interesting landscape, a unique local scene, or simply a beautiful place to stop and breathe in the fresh air, we can make suitable stops along the way for photographs and a short break.

📍Coffee Break | Around 10:00–11:00 AM

Take a relaxing coffee break around the Lembor area or Watu Weri Beach, depending on the day's conditions and route. Enjoy a coffee, stretch your legs, take photographs, and refresh yourself before continuing towards Denge Village. Local Lunch in Denge then continue towards Denge and stop for lunch near the beautiful rice fields of the area. Enjoy a freshly prepared local Flores meal before beginning the trek to Wae Rebo village.

📍Denge – Wae Rebo Trekking Point

After lunch, continue towards the Wae Rebo trekking area. Because of the steep and challenging road conditions, vehicles cannot always reach the trekking starting point directly. A local motorcycle transfer will be arranged when necessary to take guests closer to the trekking point.

📍Trekking to Wae Rebo

Prepare your hiking shoes, drinking water, energy and adventurous spirit. The trek to Wae Rebo takes approximately 3 hours, depending on your pace, weather and trail conditions. The trail takes you through lush tropical forest, surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature. Along the way, you may hear birds or encounter monkeys and other signs of the forest environment. The trek can be challenging, but reaching Wae Rebo on foot makes the arrival even more meaningful. 

📍Welcome to Wae Rebo Village

As you approach the entrance to Wae Rebo, you will find a traditional bamboo structure. Guests are invited to strike the bamboo three times as a traditional signal to let the community know that visitors have arrived. The people of Wae Rebo will then prepare to welcome you.

📍A Traditional Wae Lu'u Welcome

Please note that photography is not permitted immediately upon entering the village.

Before taking photographs or freely exploring the village, guests will first be welcomed by the traditional leader, known locally as Tua Adat, Tua Golo, or Tua Gendang. Guests will then enter a traditional house to participate in a short welcoming ritual known as Wae Lu'u. During this ceremony, the traditional leader asks the ancestors to welcome and protect visitors throughout their stay in Wae Rebo. This is an important cultural tradition, and guests are kindly requested to observe the ceremony respectfully.

📍Coffee & Village Experience

After the welcoming ceremony, guests will be guided to another traditional house where authentic Wae Rebo coffee or tea will be served. After the traditional welcome has been completed, you are free to enjoy the village at your own pace. Walk around, take photographs, interact with local residents, learn about their way of life, and appreciate the unique atmosphere of Wae Rebo.

📍Traditional Dinner | Around 07:00 PM

Dinner is prepared by the women of Wae Rebo and served as an authentic local meal. This is a communal dining experience rather than a Western-style restaurant setting. Guests sit together on mats and share the same local dishes, providing a simple and genuine opportunity to experience traditional village life. After dinner, spend some time relaxing, chatting with fellow travelers, or interacting with members of the local community.

📍Rest in Wae Rebo | Around 10:00 PM

Guests are encouraged to rest from around 10:00 PM. Wae Rebo relies on a generator for electricity, and the village generally turns off its lights at night. Sleeping facilities are provided, including mattresses/sleeping mats, pillows and blankets. Guests who wish to stay awake longer may do so, but should bring their own flashlight or personal light source. Overnight in Wae Rebo Traditional Village.

📍Sunrise at Wae Rebo

Wake up before sunrise and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere of Wae Rebo in the early morning. If weather and conditions permit, walk towards the Wae Rebo Library area to experience the sunrise and watch the morning light appear over the surrounding mountains and traditional village. Take some time to enjoy the quiet morning before the village begins its daily activities.

📍Morning Coffee & Breakfast

Return to the traditional house for morning coffee and breakfast together with other guests. After breakfast, enjoy some additional free time to explore Wae Rebo, interact with the local community, take photographs, and appreciate the village before beginning the journey back to Denge.

📍Trek Back to Denge

Begin your approximately 3-hour trek back to Denge. The duration may vary depending on your walking pace, weather and trail conditions. Once you arrive in Denge, continue by vehicle towards the coast.

📍Denge – Coastal Departure Point

Drive approximately 10–20 minutes towards the coastal departure point. From here, board a local fishing boat and sail towards Mules Island. The boat journey takes approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on sea and weather conditions. Boat arrangements can be made as either private or sharing, depending on the booking arrangement.

📍Explore Mules Island

Welcome to Mules Island, one of the beautiful coastal gems of southern Flores.

Take your time to explore the island, walk along its coastline, enjoy the scenery, take photographs, and simply relax in its peaceful natural surroundings. With its dramatic landscapes and relatively untouched atmosphere, Mules Island is sometimes described by visitors as “Flores' Jurassic Park.”

Rather than simply passing through, you will have time to experience the island and enjoy its natural beauty.

📍Local Lunch

After exploring Mules Island, enjoy lunch either on the island or at a local warung/restaurant along the route, depending on the day's conditions and logistics.

📍Mules Island → Ruteng

After exploring Mules Island, return by boat to the mainland and continue the journey overland towards Ruteng.

Upon arrival in Ruteng, check in to your accommodation, enjoy dinner, and take time to rest after a full day of adventure.

Wake up and enjoy breakfast at your hotel before continuing your exploration of Ruteng and its surroundings.

📍Golo Curu

Start the morning at Golo Curu, a scenic viewpoint overlooking Ruteng and the surrounding countryside. Enjoy panoramic views of the city, green landscapes, and rural areas stretching across the Manggarai highlands.

📍Hobbit Cave

Continue to the Hobbit Cave, an interesting natural and archaeological destination associated with the prehistoric discoveries of Flores. Take some time to explore the area and learn about its unique connection to the island's history.

📍Spider Web Rice Fields

Continue to one of Manggarai's most distinctive agricultural landscapes the famous Spider Web Rice Fields. From above, the rice fields form a remarkable circular pattern resembling a giant spider web. This traditional land arrangement reflects the cultural heritage and agricultural traditions of the Manggarai people. Take time to appreciate the landscape and capture photographs before continuing the journey.

📍Sunset at Puncak Watu Api

End your Flores adventure with a beautiful sunset at Puncak Watu Api, where panoramic views of the Labuan Bajo coastline and surrounding sea create the perfect final moment before returning to the city. 

📍Return to Labuan Bajo

After enjoying the sunset, begin the overland journey back to Labuan Bajo. End of your 3D2N Flores Overland Adventure.

Please read the following terms and conditions carefully before making your booking. By confirming your reservation, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.

1. Booking & Confirmation

• A booking is considered confirmed once Cebo Lako Tour has received the required booking information and payment according to the agreed booking arrangement.

• Guests are responsible for providing accurate information, including full name, number of participants, contact details, accommodation information, and any relevant special requests.

• Any special requirements should be communicated to Cebo Lako Tour before the tour begins.

2. Payment

• Tour prices are based on the package, number of guests, transportation arrangement, and services included in the confirmed booking.

• Any additional expenses not specifically stated as included in the itinerary are the responsibility of the guest.

• Payment terms, deposit requirements, and remaining balance will be communicated at the time of booking.

3. Pick-Up & Transportation

• Hotel pick-up and drop-off are available within the agreed Labuan Bajo area.

• Pick-up and drop-off from Ruteng can also be arranged upon prior agreement.

• Guests are requested to be ready at the agreed pick-up time, normally around 08:00–08:30 AM.

• Delays caused by guests may affect the itinerary and cannot always be compensated by extending the tour.

• Transportation times are estimates and may vary due to road conditions, traffic, weather, local activities, and other circumstances beyond our control.

4. Wae Rebo Trekking

• The trek to and from Wae Rebo takes approximately 3 hours each way, depending on the guest's walking pace, weather, and trail conditions.

• The trail includes uphill and downhill sections and requires a reasonable level of physical fitness.

• Guests are responsible for bringing suitable hiking shoes, sufficient drinking water, and appropriate personal equipment.

• Cebo Lako Tour reserves the right to recommend changes to the trekking plan if weather, trail conditions, or other circumstances create a safety concern.

• Guests who are unable to continue the trek due to personal physical limitations may be responsible for any additional transportation or assistance costs required.

5. Local Motorcycle Transfer

• Due to steep and challenging road conditions, vehicles may not always be able to reach the Wae Rebo trekking point.

• Local motorcycle transportation may be arranged when necessary.

• Motorcycle transfers are subject to local availability and road/weather conditions.

• Guests must follow reasonable safety instructions provided by the local driver and tour team.

6. Wae Rebo Cultural Rules

Wae Rebo is a living traditional community, and guests are expected to respect its customs and traditions.

• Guests must follow instructions from the local traditional leaders and hosts.

• Photography is not permitted immediately upon entering the village before the traditional welcoming process has been completed.

• Guests should wait for permission before taking photographs in areas where restrictions apply.

• Guests should dress and behave respectfully while participating in local cultural activities and ceremonies.

• Guests should not enter private areas, houses, or restricted places without permission.

• Guests are expected to respect local residents, their traditions, property, and daily activities.

7. Wae Lu'u Traditional Welcome

• The Wae Lu'u welcoming ritual is a traditional cultural practice conducted by the local community.

• Guests are expected to participate respectfully and follow the guidance of the traditional leader.

• The ceremony is subject to local circumstances and community arrangements.

• Cebo Lako Tour does not guarantee the exact format, duration, or wording of the ceremony, as it remains under the authority of the local traditional community.

8. Accommodation in Wae Rebo

• Accommodation in Wae Rebo is a simple communal traditional village experience, not a conventional hotel.

• Guests share sleeping facilities with other visitors.

• Sleeping mats/mattresses, pillows, and blankets are provided according to local arrangements.

• Electricity is limited and generally supplied by a generator.

• Guests should bring a flashlight or headlamp for personal use.

• Guests are expected to maintain cleanliness and respect other guests and the local community.

9. Mules Island & Boat Transportation

• The boat journey to and from Mules Island is subject to sea, weather, and safety conditions.

• The boat arrangement may be private or sharing, depending on the confirmed booking.

• For safety reasons, Cebo Lako Tour and/or the local boat operator may postpone, modify, or cancel the boat journey if sea conditions are considered unsuitable.

• If the Mules Island visit cannot proceed due to unsafe sea conditions, Cebo Lako Tour will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement where possible.

• Any alternative arrangement will depend on availability, local conditions, and the circumstances of the cancellation.

• Guests are responsible for keeping their belongings secure during boat transportation.

10. Meals

• Meals included in the package are local meals as stated in the itinerary.

• Wae Rebo dinner and breakfast are prepared according to local community arrangements and may differ from Western-style meals.

• Guests with food allergies, dietary restrictions, or special dietary requirements must inform Cebo Lako Tour before booking.

• While reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate dietary requirements, specific food choices cannot always be guaranteed in remote areas.

11. Weather & Force Majeure

The itinerary may be changed, delayed, or adjusted due to circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Cebo Lako Tour, including but not limited to:

• Severe weather

• Rough sea conditions

• Heavy rain

• Landslides

• Road closures

• Natural disasters

• Government restrictions

• Local community circumstances

• Transportation disruptions

• Other safety-related conditions

The safety of guests, local communities, drivers, boat crews, and guides takes priority over following the itinerary exactly as planned.

12. Itinerary Changes

• The itinerary is designed as a guide and may be adjusted when necessary.

• Cebo Lako Tour may modify the sequence, timing, transportation arrangements, or activities due to weather, road conditions, trekking conditions, sea conditions, local regulations, or operational circumstances.

• Such changes do not automatically constitute a failure to provide the tour.

• Cebo Lako Tour will make reasonable efforts to preserve the main experiences included in the package whenever conditions allow.

13. Guest Responsibility

Guests are responsible for:

• Following reasonable instructions from Cebo Lako Tour, local drivers, boat operators, and community representatives.

• Taking reasonable care of their own health and personal safety.

• Bringing appropriate clothing, footwear, medication, and personal equipment.

• Informing Cebo Lako Tour of relevant medical, mobility, dietary, or other conditions that may affect participation.

• Taking care of personal belongings throughout the journey.

• Respecting local communities, cultural traditions, wildlife, nature, and the environment.

14. Personal Belongings

Cebo Lako Tour is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal belongings unless caused by proven negligence on the part of Cebo Lako Tour.

Guests are strongly advised to keep valuable items secure and bring only what is necessary for the trip.

15. Health & Fitness

This tour involves:

• Approximately 3 hours of trekking to Wae Rebo

• Approximately 3 hours of trekking back to Denge

• Uneven and sometimes steep terrain

• Boat transportation

• Overnight accommodation in a simple communal environment

Guests should assess their own physical ability before booking.

Guests are responsible for informing Cebo Lako Tour of any condition, injury, mobility limitation, or other circumstance that could affect their participation.

16. Cancellation & Refunds

We understand that travel plans can sometimes change. Our cancellation policy is designed to provide reasonable flexibility while covering costs that may already have been committed to local communities and service providers.

Cancellation made 30 days or more before departure
Guests are eligible for a full refund, less any non-refundable costs already paid to third-party suppliers or local service providers.

Cancellation made 15–29 days before departure
Guests are eligible for a 50% refund of the total tour price. Any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Cancellation made 7–14 days before departure
Guests are eligible for a 25% refund of the total tour price. Any non-refundable third-party costs already incurred may be deducted from the refundable amount.

Cancellation made less than 7 days before departure
No refund will be provided.

No-show
No refund will be provided if a guest fails to appear at the agreed meeting point or pick-up location without prior notice.

Late arrival or early departure
No refund will be provided for unused services resulting from late arrival, voluntary withdrawal from the tour, or early departure.

Cancellation by Cebo Lako Tour due to unsafe conditions
If Cebo Lako Tour must cancel or significantly modify part of the itinerary due to unsafe weather, sea conditions, road closures, natural disasters, government restrictions, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative arrangement where possible.

Any refund or credit for services that cannot be provided will be assessed based on the circumstances and any recoverable costs from third-party suppliers.

Third-party costs
Certain payments to Wae Rebo community services, local boat operators, transportation providers, accommodation providers, or other suppliers may be non-refundable once confirmed or paid. Such costs may be deducted from any applicable refund.

Cancellation request
All cancellation requests must be submitted to Cebo Lako Tour in writing. The applicable cancellation period will be determined based on the date the cancellation request is received and the scheduled tour departure date.

17. No-Show & Late Arrival

• No refund will normally be provided for guests who fail to appear at the agreed pick-up location and time without prior notice.

• If a guest arrives late and the delay causes additional transportation, accommodation, boat, or other operational costs, such costs may be charged to the guest.

• Guests are encouraged to contact Cebo Lako Tour as soon as possible if they expect to be delayed.

18. Photography & Media

Guests may take photographs and videos during the tour where permitted.

However, guests must respect restrictions relating to cultural ceremonies, traditional houses, local residents, and other areas where photography is not permitted.

Cebo Lako Tour may take photographs or videos during the tour for documentation or promotional purposes only where appropriate and with reasonable respect for guest privacy.

19. Limitation of Responsibility

Cebo Lako Tour will take reasonable care in arranging and operating the tour. However, Cebo Lako Tour cannot be held responsible for delays, injuries, losses, damages, cancellations, or additional expenses arising from circumstances beyond its reasonable control.

This includes circumstances involving third-party service providers such as local boat operators, motorcycle drivers, accommodation providers, restaurants, or other independent suppliers, except where responsibility arises from applicable law.

20. Acceptance of Terms

By making a booking with Cebo Lako Tour, the guest confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

Cebo Lako Tour reserves the right to update these terms when necessary. The terms applicable to a booking will be those communicated and accepted at the time of confirmation.
