Bung Karno Seclusion House refers to two houses in Indonesia in which Sukarno lived during his time in exile. On January 14, 1934, he was exiled in Ende, Flores, where he stayed from 1934 to 1938. His home in Ende is now museum. After that, he was exiled to Bengkulu city until 1942.

Ende: Birthplace of Pancasila, Soekarno's Exile. This is where Sukarno contemplated and formulated Pancasila (Five Principles) that became foundation of Indonesia. Under a breadfruit tree (Pohon Sukun) near Ende harbor, Sukarno often sat and thought about future of Indonesia. That tree is now called Pancasila Tree and still stands!
2. Authentic Exile House 1934-1938
He finally found rented house facing east. It had Dutch architectural style and was owned by Haji Abdulah Ambuwaru. This museum is the former home of Indonesia's first President, Bung Karno, and his family during their exile in Ende by the Dutch Colonial Government from 1934 to 1938. The house has been beautifully preserved and is well-maintained by the Ende Regency Government as a historic heritage site.Β
Today, this simple but historically significant abode in Ende is known as "Rumah Pengasingan Soekarno", or The House of Exile of Soekarno, and is open to public. In 1954, when Soekarno was first President of Indonesia, he officially inaugurated house as museum.
